This website showcases the work in progress on the Miga's Secret project. Miga’s Secret is an illustrated an animated nursery rhyme, accessible through a set of seven concertina picture books and an interactive mobile application. The idea and project is initiated by Art Director and Motion Designer Monika Rohner.

Two for Joy / Storyboard

This is the very bright and fun “Two for Joy” storyboard. I’m a regular swimmer and there was a woman swimming always the same time as me in the public pool who inspired me to this character of the jellyfish lady.

The scene starts under water. We can see the colourful tentacles of a jellyfish gently floating in the blue water (1). Zoom out. The upper part of the jellyfish’s body is a swimming queen (2/3). We zoom out further and see that there’s a whole group of half-man, half-animal beings swimming together with the jellyfish-queen (4/5). Zooming out further we can see that the swimming pool is part of a komplex architecture in the middle of a colourful fun fair (6/7). The whole scene is located on the back of huge turtle (8/9). The turtle is swimming in blue water (10) and next to it we see the colourful tentacles of a jellyfish (11). ∞

There’s a moodboard to illustrate the bright and joyful mood of this loop. Turquoise colour dominates the palette. The many animals, flags, confetti and fun fair booths set colourful accents.
